The have been hit by injury ahead of their international friendly against Japan in Osaka next week.

Football Federation (FFA) today confirmed that both and have been withdrawn from the squad, with Antonis replaced by Swiss-based Oliver Bozanic.

Luck wasn’t on Antonis’ side after he was involved in a car accident on the way to the airport on Sunday evening. After complaining of head and neck pain, Antonis was transferred to hospital and underwent scans which eventually cleared him of any major injury.

Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou, however, decided not to risk the young midfielder and he will now remain in Sydney to recover.

Milligan, a mainstay of the Socceroos side over the last 18 months, picked up a minor knee injury in Melbourne Victory’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle Jets on Saturday. Despite being given an extra day to recover, his knee hasn’t recovered sufficiently to travel and he will not make the voyage to Osaka.

FFA have declined to replace Milligan in the squad, which will now contain 22 players for the week-long camp.
