2013 Uzbekistan Player of the Year Vitaliy Denisov could be bound for Spain’s Villareal, according to a report from Transfer Market Web.
The 27-year-old joined Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2013 on a free transfer and is signed to the Russian Premier League side through the end of 2015.
Denisov made his international debut for the White Wolves in 2006, playing six seasons with Ukraine’s Dnipro before the move to Russia. With 47 caps, he is expected to be a key part of his country’s Asian Cup squad next January in Australia.
Lokomotiv officials have thus far denied the existence of an offer from the La Liga outfit, with sporting director Kirill Kotov telling local media that the league’s 2014 Left Back of the Year is “not for sale.”
