Al Habsi, Al Hosni feature in Oman’s Asian Cup squad

Australia v Oman - FIFA World Cup Asian Qualifier

Paul Le Guen today announced the 23 Omani players that will travel with him tomorrow to Australia for next month’s AFC , following a week-long training camp in order to hand-pick his squad.

Heavily featuring players from local side Al-Oruba Sports Club, experienced goalkeeper and captain Ali Al Habsi will join fellow veterans Imad Al Hosni, Ahmed Mubarak and Hassan Mudhafar in a side featuring 12 players aged 25 or under.

will base themselves within the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) facilities in Canberra, the hometown of FA Technical Director Jim Selby, and are scheduled to play warm-up friendlies against Qatar and China PR.

They will open their campaign with the daunting challenge of a game against South Korea, before facing Australia and Kuwait.
