The 25-year-old defender most recently played for Albirex Niigata , having spent four years with the J-League satellite club following three seasons with Consadole Sapporo, during which time he made just two appearances in the 2010 season.

Hotta will wear the number 16 shirt at his new club, founded in 2009 under the name of Buriram Football Club and relegated to the 18-team second division after finishing the 2014 Thai Premier League season in 18th place.
