Tianjin Teda are on the verge of sealing a deal to bring Iran defender Morteza Pouraliganji to the club for a reported fee of US$500,000, Iranian media have reported.
According to The Tehran Times, the 22-year-old has been linked with a move from Naft Tehran to the Chinese Super League side after an agreement has been reached.
The paper revealed that Pouraliganji has accepted a deal worth $1.5 million per season and flew to China on Sunday to complete the required medical check and put pen to paper on his new contract.
Pouraliganji was a key member of Team Melli in the 2015 Asian Cup after making his international debut in a friendly against Iraq just before the tournament. The defender performed well during in Australia, scoring a vital goal against Iraq in the quarter tie, before his team eventually fell in penalty kicks.
