Sardar Azmoun will join Russian Premier League side FC Rostov on loan from his parent club, Rubin Kazan, according to a report by Persian Football.
It is reported that the 20-year-old striker has signed a loan deal with Rostov, where he will be reunited with his former coach Kurban Berdyev, until the end of the current 2014/15 season.
Berdyev was the coach of Rubin Kazan in 2012, where he convinced Azmoun to leave Sepahan’s youth team to agree to a move to the Russian Premier League club at the age of 17.
Previously, rumours claimed that a number of European giants, including Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur were interested in signing Azmoun after the striker produced solid performances across the 2015 AFC Asian Cup, where Iran were knocked out in a quarter-final penalty shootout to rivals Iraq.
Azmoun made his first international debut for Team Melli in a friendly match against Montenegro on May 26 last year and has since gone on to make a further eight appearances, scoring four goals.
