Kazakhstan Premier League outfit FC Ordabasy Shymkent have signed Uzbekistan
international Alexander Geynrikh for an undisclosed fee, the club have announced.
Geynrikh, who was playing for 2014 Uzbek Professional Football League runners-up Lokomotiv Tashkent before the move, revealed his decision to move came after disputes with the Uzbek giants.
“I had to leave Lokomotiv Tashkent due to conflicts with the management [and] we agreed to terminate the contract. I received an offer from Ordabasy and I agreed to join the club,” said the 31-year-old forward as quoted by UZ Daily.
“Ordabasy, who have a campaign in the UEFA Europa League this season, will be a new challenge for me. It is obviously a step forward for me.”
Geynrikh, who has 83 international appearances and 28 goals for his country, was an integral part to Lokomotiv’s recent success, helping the club to victory in the 2014 UFF Cup.
