The Indonesia Super League (ISL) has announced an agreement with Qatar National Bank Group (QNB) which will see them sponsor the league through the end of the 2017 season.
The league will now be known as the QNB League following the deal, which was arranged by ISL commercial rights holder BV Sports and league operator PT Liga Indonesia for an undisclosed fee.
“As a part of our expansion plan across Asia, we will take this deal as our opportunity to increase the visibility and QNB profile in the international markets,” said QNB general manager Yousef Darwish in a statement.
“We have expanded in Indonesia since 2011 and the increasing popularity of football across the country will put QNB League on a great platform within the best sport industry in Indonesia.”
This is not QNB Group’s first foray into the Asian market as they are sponsors of the AFC Cup as well as French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
