The newly-built Philippine Sports Stadium will host its first international match on Wednesday when Global FC line up against Myanmar side Yadanarbon FC in AFC Cup play.
With a capacity of 25,000 seats, it is 150 percent larger than the Rizal Memorial Stadium which has traditionally served as home for the Philippines national team.
The announcement to use the Bulacan-based stadium, which opened in last July, was confirmed by Global coach Leigh Manson after previous plans to use the ground fell through.
“It is an honor to be leading Global FC in this first game there,” the Scottish manager told Spin. “Playing games in this stadium will motivate players and be exciting for everyone.
“I hope more people come out and enjoy the games being played there.”
The United Football League (UFL) champions currently sit at the bottom of the four-team Group G with just one point.
