Kiatisuk Senamuang believes that with solid preparation, Thailand can defy the odds by performing well in 2018 World Cup/2019 Asian Cup joint qualifying.
The War Elephants have been drawn into Group F, which will see the face Southeast Asia counterparts Indonesia and Vietnam as well as Iraq and Chinese Taipei.
“Obviously we’re kind of lucky,” the 41-year-old coach said, “I can see a tight fight for the top of the group with Iraq, but in this tournament we should have proper preparations.
“We have to prepare well because other competitors like Indonesia and Vietnam are also good teams. It’s definitely no easy task for us.”
The 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup winners will open their campaign on June 11, when they host Vietnam at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium.
