Davies playing for Perth Glory of the A-League in 2014
Ong Kim Swee believes Matthew Davies needs time to adapt to Malaysian football as the Australian-born defender is set to represent the country’s Under-23 team ahead of 2015 SEA Games.
The Harimau Muda coach has warned supporters that Davies may not make an instant impact, however, as he and the team need to learn each other’s strengths.
“I think Matthew was trying to adapt with the team,” said Kim Swee after guiding his team to a 2-0 friendly win against MK Land on Wednesday.
“He arrived in Malaysia a week ago and only had four days to train with his new team-mates. But we believe that he can improve his progress this month.”
Davies made his Malaysia Super League debut last week for Pahang FA, helping his team clinch a 2-0 over Kelantan FA.
