Milan supporters have protested in support of new ownership
Thai investor Bee Taechaubol has signed a ‘pre-contract’ with AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi to acquire a majority stake in the club.
It was reported that Taechaubol has already made two trips to Italy and was photographed behind Berlusconi as he signed a document, believed to be a pre-contract agreement, last October.
“The reports are all true. I have presented an offer to acquire a majority stake in AC Milan,” the Thai investor told Bangkok Post. “My offer has an overall value of just under €1 billion.
“The deal could come into effect by October. I’m now awaiting a response from Berlusconi. I am ready to close the deal by the end of the month.”
The Thai businessman also declared that he expects the details regarding a takeover to be agreed and signed off in the next weekend.
“Next Sunday, April 26, I’ll be in Milan to seal and conclude the deal,” Taechaubol shared with La Repubblica.
Taechaubol would become the second Asian entrepreneur to take charge of a Serie A club, following Inter’s Indonesian owner Erick Thohir.
