Indonesian wonderkid Evan Dimas says he is dreaming of a move to the Spanish football.
The 20-year-old, who represented his country at the AFF Suzuki Cup last year, is re-considering his future with Persebaya Surabaya following a second postponement of the 2015 Indonesia Super League.
“I want to play abroad and my dream is to play in Spain,” Evan told reporters. “However, first I want to ply my trade in Asian competitions [as a stepping stone].
The Surabaya-born playmaker has been interested in a Liga move since receiving a 2012 opportunity to train with Barcelona’s academy La Masia, where he gained experience training under then-coach Pep Guardiola.
“Evan Dimas, who led Indonesia to win 2013 AFF Cup U-19, is a fan of Barcelona and sees our club as his inspiration to play football,” the Catalan giants wrote of Dimas on their official Indonesian website.
The midfielder made his senior debut with Merah Putih against Laos in last November, scoring his first international goal and making one assist.
