Nepal’s largest stadium suffers damage; National League postponed following earthquake

The South Asian nation is reeling from the earthquake, which has killed at least 2,500

Kathmandu’s Dashrath Stadium has suffered massive damage as a result of Saturday’s devastating earthquake in , GoalNepal reported on Sunday.

Pictures show a collapsed entryway to the country’s largest stadium, which was hosting the U-14 Girl’s Regional Championship at the time.

Tournament participants India, who along with Iran were scheduled to contest the third-place match, have left the country.

“The U-14 Girls have landed safely in New Delhi. Everyone [is] safe,” read a statement from the All India Football Federation.

Nepal’s National League has been suspended indefinitely after a state of emergency was announced by the government.

UNICEF and the Red Cross are amongst organisations seeking donations for ongoing relief efforts.
