The second round joint qualifier between Thailand and Vietnam has been rescheduled for May 24 due to a conflict with the upcoming 2015 SEA Games.
According to Siamsport, Thai Football Federation (FAT) president Worawi Makudi has received approval from both FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation after reaching an agreement with Vietnamese Football Federation.
“[On Monday] we have received approval from AFC regarding rescheduling the Thailand-Vietnam World Cup qualifying match, which will take place at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok on May 24,” said VFF vice president Tran Quoc Tuan.
The two countries were originally scheduled to face each other on June 11 in the joint qualifier, but requested the change as their Under-23 sides will meet on June 10 in the Singapore-hosted regional competition.
Reigning AFF Suzuki Cup champions Thailand also announced a pair of friendly matches against Korea DPR on May 17 and Bahrain on June 5.
