Brunei U-23s arrive in Japan for SEA Games prep

’s Under-23 squad have flown out to Japan to begin 10 days of intensive preparations ahead of the upcoming in Singapore.

The camp was arranged through an invitation from the Japan Foundation in cooperation with the Japan Football Association (JFA) and J-League.

Coach Stephen Ng outlined the importance of the camp, which will begin without DPMM FC trio Aminuddin Zakwan, Azwan Ali and Ak Yura Indera, who will join the team after their Thursday duties in the S-League.

“We have to work with what we have,” Ng told the Brunei Times. “We understand they are in the professional game and we cannot disrupt their season. As much as we want them in the team we have to be understanding.”

The Wasps will be put through their paces by Singaporean coach ahead of the summer showpiece. They have been handed a tough group consisting of

Vietnam, Laos, Timor Leste, Thailand, and Malaysia.
