Tran Nguyen Manh - Vietnam

‘s first-choice goalkeeper has withdrawn from Toshiya Miura’s Vietnam squad after picking up a ligament injury in the latest training session. Midfield duo Nguyen Trong Hoang and Le Tan Tai also provide fitness doubts ahead of Vietnam’s crucial match against Thailand on May 24.

Nguyen Manh’s absence would be a huge blow for The Golden Stars who had already seen three other players leave the squad because of injury. Among them is Pham Thanh Luong who was Vietnam’s key player at 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup.

On the opposite, Thailand also miss their star keeper Kawin Thamsatchanan. Other blows for the War Elephants are Charyl Chappuis and Prakit Deeprom with all the same issues.

Thailand will host Vietnam at Rajamangala stadium on May 24 in the first round of qualifiers.
