Newly-promoted English Premier League club AFC Bournemouth have completed the signing of Adam Federici on a free transfer after his Reading contract expired this season.
The Australian shot-stopper has completed a medical and has agreed personal terms on a three year contract at Dean Court and will compete for the number one spot alongside Artur Boruc.
Federici, 30, was named as Reading’s player of the season for 2014/15 campaign after helping The Royals reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup, where they lost 2-1 in a hard-fought battle to Arsenal.
“It was difficult to leave Reading because I had been there an extremely long time,” he told the Bournemouth’s official website.
“I had a lot of success there and the fans were great for me, but I thought it was time I moved on. I’m looking forward to joining something special down here. It’s a team I admired last season, watching how they play their football.”
Federici joined Reading in September 2005 and has made 245 appearances for the club, including over 20 appearances in the Premier League.
