Vietnam U-23 opened their campaign off to a flying start with a 6-0 thrashing of Brunei U-23 at Bishan Stadium on Friday.

Goal from Le Thanh Binh in the 25th minute put the Young Golden Star 1-0 in front at half-time. Tran Phi Son’s header two minutes after the break successfully doubled the lead.

Another second-half efforts from Tran Phi Son, Mac Hong Quan, Pham Duc Huy, Nguyen Cong Phuong and Pham Manh Hung added gloss to a resounding victory.

Chananan Phombubha inspired Thailand U-23 to clinch three points in their opening game with a stunning 6-0 win over Laos U-23 at Bishan Stadium.

Choketawee Promrut’s men dominated much of the game and can thank Chananan for his part in the victory as he amazingly scored four times.

With defender Narubadin Weerawatnodom was also getting himself on the scoresheet in the 10th minute, and Nurul Sriyankem netted the third goal in the 37th minute.
