Chinese Super League side Guizhou Renhe are set to complete the signing of midfielder Sejad Salihovic from TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The 30-year-old Bosnian international has confirmed his move on club’s official side despite still has a year left on his contract with the Germany Bundesliga outfit.
“It was an exciting and especially emotional time I have experienced with the TSG,” said Salihovic. “We have celebrated many successes, and what has been built here in recent years, is just fantastic.
The former Hertha Berlin man spent almost a decade to play for Hoffenheim, revealed his transfer to East Asia’s country as a new adventure and the one that he is looking forward to.
“But now the time has come that I had to decide whether I again want to do something different and I have decided to get to know something new. The decision is not easy for me but it has matured long.
“There are just times in life when you have to make such decisions. I want to try something different. And maybe I’ll even come back. I can well imagine,” he added.
Salihovic only appeared in 13 games for Hoffenheim last season and it was likely to have played a key part in his departure. Guangzhou Renhe currently sit in the CSL relegation places after 13 games in 2015, three points adrift.
