Eight AFC Champions League participants learned their fates on Thursday as the competition’s quarterfinal draw was held in Kuala Lumpur.
In the West bracket, 2014 runners-up Al Hilal will face Qatar’s Lekhwiya, while debutants Naft Tehran will square off against UAE’ Al Ahli.
In the East, Kashiwa Reysol were drawn with Guangzhou Evergrande, whom they have not beaten in four previous meetings. 2006 winners Jeonbuk Motors will face 2008 champions Gamba Osaka in what should be another explosive encounter between South Korea and Japanese clubs.
The first leg will take place on August 25 and 26, with the return leg scheduled for September 15 and 16.
