Chinese Super League giants Guangzhou Evergrande have signed Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Paulinho on a four-year deal, the club announced on Monday.
The 26-year-old failed to live up to expectations at White Hart Lane since signing from Brazilian club Corinthians two years ago and will join the 2013 Asian Champions League champions for a fee reported to be around $15m.
The Brazilian midfielder managed a total of 67 appearances for the English Premier League side, scoring ten goals and also provided seven assists.
Paulinho’s move to Asia will see him reunited with coach Luis Felipe Scolari, who selected him for Brazil’s squad at the 2013 Confederations Cup and was recently named as Evergrande’s new coach.
Earlier this year, the four-time CSL winners signed Ricardo Goulart from Cruzeiro and Alan from Red Bull Salzburg, who joined and midfield duo Elkeson and Rene Junior to complete the Brazilian contingent.
