Marjan Sekulovski says the clinical striker Edison Fonseca is irreplaceable at Ayeyawady United and he calls him as one of the best players ever to play in Myanmar National League.
The 31-year-old Colombian forward, who previously played for Burmese giants Yadanarbon, has left the Pathein-based club during last month’s transfer window, making the club are short on attackers.
Moreover, the situation became worse as the 2014 MFF Cup winners look ahead to the second half of the league, when another striker Riste Naumov was out through injury in the club’s loss 2-1 to Yangon United last Saturday.
“To replace Fonseca is difficult, he was one of the best players to ever play in the Myanmar National League,” said the Macedonian head tactician was quoted by Myanmar Times.
“Who will replace Lionel Messi at Barcelona? This is the equivalent situation,” he added.
Ayeyawady currently sit on the second place of the MNL table after nine matches this season, trailing Yangon United at top by eight points.
