Hyundai A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers have announced the completion of the transfer of Mitch Nichols, the club have confirmed on Saturday.
The attacking midfielder, who was on loan with Perth Glory last season from Japanese outfit Cerezo Osaka, has signed a two-year deal with the 2014 Asian Champions League winners.
Nichols, 26, became the second key signing for the Wanderers in this week, after previously having acquired veteran Spanish midfielder Andreu from Spanish club Racing Santander.
“Mitch has an excellent history in the A-League and his six seasons with Brisbane produced some impressive results including two Championships,” said Wanderers CEO John Tsatsimas in an official statement.
“He has an unpredictable ability with the ball at his feet which makes him dangerous and his work rate off the ball is a part of his game that often goes unnoticed.
“With over 150 A-League games under his belt and at 26 he is at a prime age for our squad as we reassert ourselves in the competition this season.”
Nichols has only made five appearences for the Socceroos since 2009. His arrival in Sydney would boost Wanderers in their bid to improve their creativity in the midfield after losing Iacopo La Rocca to Adelaide United.
