The 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup champions will face Central Asian side as a warm-up match ahead of the and 2019 Asian Cup joint qualifiers campaign.

Afghanistan Football Federation (AFF) confirmed through their official Facebook page on Wednesday that a friendly meeting will take place at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok on September 3.

The match will serve as a preparation for the Slaven Skeledzic’s men before hosting Japan at Azadi Stadium, Tehran in Iran on September 8, as well as Thailand, who will meet Iraq on the same date in their qualifying campaign respectively.

The War Elephants squad, who are currently under Kiatisuk Senamuang’s guidance, have opened up a six-point gap at the top of Group F after winning their first two games, 1-0 against Vietnam and 2-0 over Chinese Taipei last month.
