J-League division two outfit Tokyo Verdy have reportedly made a trial move for a Thailand international and Chonburi winger Kroekrit Thaweekarn.
It was revealed on Thursday that the Japanese club declared an interest to invite the 24-year-old to join their training session which will take a week period in this month.
“Tokyo Verdy would like to invite Kroekrit Thaweekarn as a trainee at our club during the period between July 20-26,” read a statement in an official letter.
However, the invitation reportedly has faced a refusal from the Thai Premier League side as the Chonburi vice president, Annop Sintothong was reluctant to release his player halfway through the season.
Kroekrit was a key figure for the War Elephants squad under Kiatisuk Senamuang’s guidance which successfully won the 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup after defeating Malaysia in final with a 4-3 aggregate score.
