Rod Fanni leaves Marseille for Qatari club Al-Arabi

Marseille’s French international defender Rod Fanni, out of contract with the Ligue 1 side, has signed for two seasons with , the Qatari club confirmed on Saturday.

The 33-year-old, who has five caps for France, previously played for Ligue 1 sides Lens, Nice and Rennes.

Fanni joined Marseille in 2011, playing 26 games for the club who finished fourth in Ligue 1 last season.

He was not offered a contract extension from Marseille coach Marcelo Bielsa at the end of last season.
