Selangor coach Mehmet Durakovic has praised Luciano Figueroa after producing a “world-class” performance for Johor Darul Takzim in a Malaysia Super League match against his team.
The 34-year-old Argentinian forward produced an impressive performance with his brace and one assist as the defending champions defeated Gergasi Merah 3-1 at Larkin Stadium on Monday.
“JDT have unbelievable foreigners in their team. (Luciano) Figueroa is a world class player,” said the Australian head tactician was quoted by Sports247.
It was Selangor’s second defeat in a row, after previously having lost to the league leaders Pahang at the Shah Alam Stadium by the same score on July 8. The two negative results took away their chances on title hopes this season.
“With seven games to go we will try to stay afloat and keep pace at the top,” added Durakovic, as the league goes on an 18-day break for Hari Raya.
