Myanmar hold selection for U-19 national team

Football Federation (MFF) has held a youth competition to select players for the new U-19 national team from July 13 to 16 at Thuwunna Training Centre in Yangon.

According to Myanmar Times, the tournament attracted more than 70 young players from football clubs in Myanmar National League (MNL) and the MFF Academy.

It was mentioned that about 30 players have been selected by the team coach Gerd Zeise and his assistant U Nyi Nyi Latt to represent the Young White Angels squad in the future international competitions.

previously qualified for the U-20 World Cup in New Zealand in June for the first time in history, where they were knocked out during the group stage under Zeise’s guidance.

The new selected U-19 national team are prepared to compete in this year’s AFF U-19 Youth Championship in Laos next month, as well as hosting the 2016 AFC U-19 Championship qualification in September.
