Zhang Chengdong to become La Liga’s first Chinese player at Rayo Vallecano

Chinese international winger has joined Spanish club on loan, his club confirmed on through their Weibo account on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old is set to become the first Chinese player to participate in Spain’s top flight should he appear for the Madrid-based club.

“We thank him for his contribution to Beijing Guoan and wish him all the best during the next phase of his career,” the club wrote on Weibo.

This will be Zhang’s third spell in Europe following time spent in Portugal with  Uniao Leiria and BeiMar, as well as a stint in Germany with Eintracht Braunschweig.
