Evan Dimas, the hugely talented 20-year-old Indonesian attacking midfielder, is set to open his way to Europe with a trial in Spain.
The teenager, who has played only a handful of senior games for Persebaya Surabaya in Indonesia Super League, is considered one of the country’s finest young players and is interesting a host of other clubs with a number of Japanese teams reportedly also having invited him to train with them.
“(The trial offer is true) but I didn’t know which Spanish club invited me. I leave it all to the club’s (Persebaya) management,” the former Indonesia U-19 team captain told reporters.
Previously, CEO of Persebaya, Gede Widiade revealed that Evan has attracted interest from Spanish clubs after performing impressively during the 2015 SEA Games campaign last month in Singapore.
“Several Spanish clubs want him for trial as well as Japanese teams. But I think he will have a better prospect in Europe,” said Gede.
Evan, a graduate of Surabaya local club’s academy, made his debut for Indonesia senior squad in 2014 AFF Suzuki Cup after winning the AFF Youth Championship with U-19 team in the previous year.
