Cambodian star Chan Vathanaka has achieved an impressive record on Sunday as he scored all six goals in Boeung Ket Angkor’s 6-0 win against Asia Europe United in Metfone C-League this season.
It was not the first notable achievement for the 21-year-old attacking midfielder to set a goalscoring record. Previously in this early month, Vathanaka had scored eight goals in a single match when his team won 12-2 over Kirivong Sok Sen Chey on July 11.
Those two marvelous performances made his name as the only local player to lead the C-League’s scoring charts with 16 goals after making eight appearances this season, three-goal lead over Phnom Penh Crown’s striker George Bisan.
Boeung Ket Angkor currently sit at the top of domestic league table, sharing the 22 points with closest rival Phnom Penh Crown but lead on goal difference.
