Urawa Reds begin academy partnership with Mexico’s Chivas Guadalajara

J-League side have announced a partnership with Mexican club Chivas Guadalajara’s academy to help develop young players.

The link-up will see Reds work in conjunction with staff at the Liga MX outfit to co-ordinate the running of a development centre, helping to train the next generation of footballers in both teams.

“The program is intended to encourage exchange of knowledge as well as promote both clubs’ efforts to raise a higher level of players,” read a statement on J-League’s official site.

“Players and coaches from both clubs will foster a close partnership by participating in football-related and cultural exchanges in future.”
