Misagh Bahadoran is determined to continue his impressive performance for the Philippines national team in the 2018 World Cup and 2019 Asian Cup joint qualifiers.
The Filipino-Iranian midfielder produced outstanding performances in the last two Azkals games where he scored two goals in a 2-1 victory over Bahrain and 2-0 against Yemen respectively in June.
“The expectation (on me) is high. The pressure is there. It’s harder being in that position now,” said the 28-year-old, who has been used at a more forward role in recent games.
Thomas Dooley’s men will continue their campaign against Uzbekistan at the Philippine Sports Stadium on September 8 before departing to face North Korea on October 8.
“I have to be prepared, physically and mentally. I have to be disciplined,” the Global FC star added.
The victories against Bahrain and Yemen have lifted the Thomas Dooley’s men into joint first place with North Korea in their qualifying Group H.
