Brisbane Roar avoid liquidation fears

has narrowly avoided liquidation over settling its $60,000 debt with the Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) after the body revealed it would not go ahead with legal proceeding.

However, late on Tuesday, the matter between the rugby body and Roar owners, Indonesian conglomerate the Bakrie Group, reached a resolution, according to a QRU spokesman.

“The details are confidential between the parties,” the spokesman said. “We wish the Roar and the Bakrie Group the very best for the coming season.”
