Arema Cronus coach Suharno has passed away at the age of 55, the club have announced.
Suharno took charge of Singo Edan’s first-team affairs from November 2013 and successfully led the team to clinch the third lace of Indonesia Super League last season.
He also managed several of Indonesia’s top clubs, including Persis Solo, Deltras Sidoarjo, Gresik United and his notable role as national team assistant coach in 2012.
The Malang-based team issued a statement that “expressed their grief and shock at the death of Suharno”
“Suharno passed away on Wednesday night due to a heart attack just hours after leading the team training session.”
As a player, the Klaten-born former tactician had 12-year stint since starting his footballing career in 1978 with PS Banteng before retiring from his last club NIAC Mitra in 1990.
