Japan squad announced for Cambodia and Afghanistan qualifiers

national team coach Vahid Halilhodzic has announced his squad for the and 2019 Asian Cup joint qualifiers against Cambodia and Afghanistan.

, who is currently in form with Borussia Dortmund, was named into the Samurai Blue squad. AC Milan star has also been included after performing as a substitute in the opening game of Italian Serie A this season.

Experienced goalkeeper is the notable player that missed out the squad selection as his place is taken by Vegalta Sendai’s Yuji Rokutan, who is looking for the first international appearance.

The four-time Asian champions will host Cambodia at Saitama Stadium on September 3 before heading to Iran to meet Afghanistan on September 8 at Azadi Stadium, Tehran.
