Indonesian rising star Evan Dimas has returned to Persebaya Surabaya after an unsuccessful trial with Spanish Segunda side UE Llagostera.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder had spent the past two weeks training with the Spanish second division club, made an impressive form in a pre-season game team but failed to earn a deal.
“Unio Esportiva Llagostera would like to announce that Evan Dimas, who spent a few weeks on trial with our first team, went back to Indonesia and will not be signing for us,” read a statement on club’s official site.
“While he trained in la Costra Brava with Llagostera’s first team, he showed a great professionalism and has immense desire to succeed.
However, the Catalan-based team insisted that they will keep to monitor the Surabaya-born midfielder, who is set to continue his career in the Indonesian domestic competition.
“Llagostera will keep an eye on the midfielder because he is a young talent with a big future ahead of him. Good luck and see you soon Evan Dimas,” it added.
Persebaya have confirmed that his young playmaker will take a part in the upcoming Indonesian President’s Cup, which is scheduled to start in early September.
