Australia international James Troisi has signed with Saudi Arabian powerhouse Al-Ittihad after leaving Italian Serie A champions Juventus.
The 27-year-old attacking midfielder, who scored Socceroos’ winner in the 2015 Asian Cup final, passed a medical in Dubai before signing a contract with the Jeddah-based club.
“Excited to official join Al Ittihad. Looking forward to getting into Jeddah and meeting all the fans,” wrote Troisi on his Twitter account.
The Adelaide-born enjoyed a successful loan stint with Belgium outfit Zulte Waregem last season, where he netted five goals in 21 appearances.
Troisi was left out of the Australia squad for two upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers so he could sort out his club future despite the coach Ange Postecoglou insisted he still considered him an important part of the team for qualifying campaign.
