Indonesia U-23 national team star Adam Alis Setyano has signed for Bahraini Premier League side East Riffa Club on a one-season deal.
The 21-year-old midfielder has joined the Riffa-based club on a free transfer after leaving Indonesia Super League giants Persija Jakarta, since his contract was terminated due to the domestic league’s dissolution in the South-East Asian nation.
“Alhamdulillah, I have signed an eight-month (one season) contract with East Riffa until May next year,” the Jakarta-born youngster told Goal.
“This will be my first experience to play abroad. I have always dreamt to leave Indonesia to continue my football career and then this offer came. I’m always ready for the new challenge.”
Following this move, Adam will link up with his fellow Indonesians, Rudy Eka Priyambada and Ryuji Utomo who joined Bahrain second tier side Al Najma as assistant coach and defender.
“(Yes) but I have never made any contacts with them so far. I will meet them in Bahrain, because I will live my first three month at the same apartment with Ryuji,” he added.
