Sergey Lushan steps down as Bunyodkor head coach

has stepped down from his role as head coach following the club’s loss 2-0 to league rivals Neftchi Fargona on Sunday.

The 42-year-old Uzbek tactician’s resignation was announced by The Swallows on their official site, but declaring that Lushan will continue his work as director of club’s academy.

Lushan took over at Bunyodkor in June 2014, won 31 of 56 games during his tenure and led his side to seal the fourth place spot in the final standing of Professional League last season.

Following Lushan’s departure, the club have made an immediate decision by appointing club’s General Director, Bakhtiyor Boboev as interim coach.
