Kuwait international Bader Al-Mutawa announces football retirement

Kuwaiti prolific striker has announced his retirement from football, both of his club and international activities at the age of 30.

According to Alraimedia, Al-Mutawa’s decision to end his footballing career has been taken after a conflict with team-mate Rashid Sumaila in the Super Cup game last week, when his team lost 3-1 to SC.

“In the day when I decide to get away from football, I’m sure that the public will know first and I hope the national team will gain more success in the future,” wrote the Kuwaiti star on his Twitter account.

Al-Mutawa scored 51 international career goals in 156 appearances for Kuwait national team, since made his first cap in 2003.
