Tottenham’s Korea Republic striker Son Heung-Min could be out for a prolonged spell after sustaining a foot injury in his side’s win over Manchester City last weekend.
The 23-year-old has settled well at White Hart Lane after joining from German side Bayer Leverkusen last month. He has netted three goals in five Spurs appearances so far and would have had another was it not for the offside flag in the 4-1 Premier League win against City on Saturday.
Son was replaced by Clinton Njie with 13 minutes to go and Tottenham confirmed he picked up an unspecified foot injury during the White Hart Lane match.
“Son Heung-Min sustained a foot injury in a challenge during Saturday’s win against Manchester City and has spent the past few days being reviewed,” an official club statement read.
“Our medical staff will monitor his progress during his rehabilitation in order to determine when he will be fit to return to training.”
Son has missed the Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Monaco in Europa League in Thursday and he could be not include in clash with Swansea in Premier League this weekend. His participation in upcoming matches of South Korea for World Cup 2018 also in doubt.
