Becamex Binh Duong striker Le Cong Vinh has denied Thai Premier League clubs’ reported interest amid transfer talk.
The striker has been linked with a Thai Premier League switch over the last few days after the Vietnamese media sparked reports over his Binh Duong future.
But Cong Vinh, speaking while still being on vacation, batted back questions about his future.
“I was really surprised when I heard about the rumours,” the 30-year-old Vietnam international said. “There were no Thai clubs in contact. It’s all about the rumours.”
When asked if he is interested in a potential Thailand move, the former Hanoi T&T goalscorer replied: “No. They will have to talk with my club first.”
Cong Vinh’s contract in Binh Duong is set to expire in 2017 and sources close to the player claim he would not consider joining a Thai club next season.
