The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will launch an investigation into the exhibition match between Indonesian side Persib Bandung and a team called ‘Malaysia All Stars’ on Saturday.
The match was held at Jalak Harupat Stadium, where the visiting team coached by Nick Sham Abdullah lost 4-1, are under scrutiny following a statement from AFC general secretary Datuk Windsor Paul John who said that a suspended nation could not have international football activities.
“Many seem to be in the dark. I was later told the Malaysian team were on a holiday,” John said, according to the Malay Online.
“Once a national FA is suspended, no such activities can take place. We will investigate this matter further.”
Previously in May, the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) was suspended by FIFA due to government interference, which later ended with a dissolution to the local league by federation.
