English Premier League giant Manchester City have signed Australia international midfielder Luke Brattan on a free transfer.
However, the 25-year-old will first turn out for Bolton Wanderers in the Championship division, with a loan deal agreed upon immediately that will run until January 3, next year.
“Manchester City is a massive club and this will be a once in a lifetime chance,” Brattan said.
Brattan was available after his contract with Australian A-League side Brisbane Roar expired after a dispute over unpaid superannuation.
The England-born midfielder has represented Australia at U-20 level. He is yet to make his debut for the senior side, but was called up to the Socceroos’ squad for a recent 2018 World Cup qualifier.
