West Ham are weighing up a £5million offer for the services of AC Milan and Japan midfielder Keisuke Honda, according to reports.
The Sun claim that the Hammers could be looking to pounce on manager Sinisa Mihajlovic’s apparent lack of faith in the midfielder with a January bid.
Honda has featured in seven of Milan’s 10 Serie A fixtures so far this campaign, with the majority of his appearances coming off the substitute’s bench.
The Japan international has failed to register a goal or assist this season, compared to a return of six goals and five assists last time out.
Milan finished 10th in the league last time out and spent big in the summer in a bid to stage a return to European football, with Carlos Bacca, Luiz Adriano and Mario Balotelli among the arrivals.
West Ham, meanwhile, are staging their own challenge for European qualification, Slaven Bilic’s side sit third in the Premier League with a return of six wins, two draws and two losses from their opening 10 games.
