David Booth, head coach of Lao Toyota FC says his side can expect a challenge from Cambodian opponents Boeung Ket Angkor FC tonight in opening game of the 2015 Toyota Mekong Club Championship.
Former Lao’s coach said: I have managed in Cambodia a few years ago and like here the teams are talented. I know they had some great players then and I expect they do now.”
Speaking at a press conference along with Prak Sovannara, his Cambodian counterpart, the Englishman said his side would also be wary of star striker Chan Vathanaka, who has netted 35 times in the C-League this season: “I know of him from years back and he was always destined to be a very good player.”
Sovannara meanwhile, hoped his side could start the tournament like they ended their successful C-League season, with a win.
“We have had a great season”, said the former-national team coach. “We will look to continue that against Lao Toyota, although it will not be easy.”
The game will kick off at 6 pm on Sunday evening, 1 November, at Anouvong Stadium in Vientiane, Laos.
