DPMM clinched their maiden Singaporean title with a 4-0 victory over Balestier Khalsa in Bandar Seri Begawan on Saturday night.

DPMM’s Brazilian stars shone during the game as Paulo Sergio netted a hat-trick in the first half before Rafael Ramazotti netted one late on, to finish as the topscorer of the league with 21 goals to his name.

The victory ensured that the Steve Kean’s men finished top of the league table with 52 points, just edging out Tampines Rovers with 48 points, who were held 1-1 by Malaysia’s Harimau Muda.

Having finished runners-up in 2012 and last year, DPMM finally became the second foreign club to claim the 10-side S-League trophy after -based French outfit Etoile FC triumphed in 2010.

“It feels great. I’m so happy for the players and I give credit to all of them,” said Keane, the former Blackburn Rovers manager.

“They used the experience of last year’s disappointment and looked so mature and calm in a game full of excitement and played with cool heads.”
