Albirex Niigata won the RHB Singapore Cup 2015 after coming from behind to beat Home United 2-1 at Jalan Besar Stadium on Friday.
It was the Japanese side’s second trophy this season, after winning the League Cup in June.
With Brunei DPMM winning the S-League title last Saturday, it means local clubs finished the season empty-handed. Home United have won the Singapore Cup a record six times, but Japanese club Albirex are no slouches having won the League Cup in June.
Albirex won the Cup thanks to the goals from Rion Taki and Kento Nagasaki while the only goal of Home United scored by Abdil Qaiyyim.
The Protectors finished the match with only 10 man after Fazli Ayob’s dismissal in the first half.
